The Lymphatic System

Cardiovascular and the lymphatic system both supply fluid in the whole body but these fluids are of different types. In the lymphatic system, there is neither closed circuit nor central pump like heart.


Introduction:

         Cardiovascular and the lymphatic system both supply fluid in the whole body but these fluids are of different types. In the lymphatic system, there is neither closed circuit nor central pump like heart. It is a web made by vessels of thin walls which is extended in the body like blood vessels. It supplies clean and colorless fluid.

The lymphatic system destroys microorganism and other harmful external substances.The lymphatic system completes four major functions-  

  • It gathers much water and proteins comparison to the interstitial fluid which is present all around the cells of whole body and it supplies into blood circulation in the form of lymph.
  • The lymphatic system destroys microorganism and other harmful external substances.
  • This system supplies fats into the blood circulation by gathering from the tissues near by the small intestine.
